Estudiamos aspectos relacionados con la patogenia y el control de las infecciones bacterianas en el hombre y en bovinos. Nos interesa entender los mecanismos adaptativos de Staphylococcus aureus a diferentes nichos evaluando los factores involucrados y la plasticidad genómica. Analizamos los efectos que ejercen ciertos agentes farmacológicos o sus derivados sobre la biopelícula bacteriana. Usamos una variedad de técnicas de la microbiología clásica, molecular y celular, herramientas bioinformáticas y modelos murinos de infección.
